Andrew and Heather Sisco: Andrew and I met at Harding University, dated for a few years and were married in August of 2004. We had our first child in June of 2006 and our second in January 2009. We had a desire to adopt for years and began praying for the children that would eventually join our family. We saw them for the first time in September of 2009. We have been pursuing adopting them ever since.
Andrew worked for his family and I worked as a flight attendant until we realized that we were adding to our family. Andrew began a job with a company named Logo Chairs and we moved to Spring Hill, TN. We have been there for four years. We never really considered living outside the U.S. and had no plans of being missional in a foreign setting until we met a couple who visited our small group at church. They opened a children’s home in one of the poorest countries in the world. The next year we decided to be a part of it by moving to Sierra Leone, West Africa. It is our goal to get there by December of 2011.
As with all big decisions it was not easy and has been met with plenty of difficulty but this is our life. And for all of the uncertainty and discomfort it comes with, we love almost every minute of it.
