When you say “yes” to sponsorship, you make a difference in the life of one of our children, and you become part of their story. Our children come to TRS abandoned, hurt, and oftentimes, hopeless. Because of the impact sponsorship has, piece by piece, slowly, they are rebuilt, transforming them from the inside out. Sponsorship provides education, shelter, nutrition, medical care, spiritual growth, opportunity, and so much more!
As we launch our July sponsorship promotion, we have many children who are in need of additional sponsors. Let's meet some of the children that need YOU!
Borbor Johnson is nine years old. He came to our center in August of 2019. When Borbor first came to The Covering, we did not see this same bright smile. The children often come to us with fresh trauma, desperately needing to feel that they are loved and cared for. The smiles come with time and trust. When you sponsor Borbor, he will know just how much he is loved. Your sponsorship also provides him with medical care as needed. Our on-staff nurse provides medical attention if he contracts malaria or experiences a soccer injury.
Meet Davida. Beauty simply radiates from her. Davida Bayoh was born on December 11, 2004, and is 14 years old. Davida came to our center in August of 2019, and our teenage girls have helped her feel right at home. Before coming to the center, Davida was left walking the streets in Sierra Leone looking for food. Because of sponsorship, she has access to three meals a day and clean water. As Davida’s sponsor, you will be able to remind her that she is a Queen of the King!
Esther Lebbie will turn 5 years old on July 25th. What better birthday gift for her than the gift of sponsorship?! Esther and her brother, Ernest, came to our center in September of 2019. Since coming to our center ten months ago, she has blossomed and grown so much. After their father passed away in 2014, Esther and Ernest’s mother struggled just to meet their basic needs. At The Covering, Esther does not need to worry about her next meal or if she will have a warm bed to sleep in. Because of sponsorship, she will also have access to a high-quality education that will provide her with many opportunities as she grows.
Meet Ernest Lebbie. He is 9 years old. When Ernest came to our center in September of 2019, he joined a group of boys that quickly became his family. When we first opened our doors, we made a commitment to raising a new generation that would be healed from the inside out. We want each life to become a ripple of change, bringing hope for generations to come. Our sponsorship program is key to this commitment. When you commit to sponsoring Ernest, he will have a safe place to grow and learn.
Look at that smile! Alhaji Kargbo came to our center in September of 2019, and he is estimated to be 9 years old. There are many unknowns about his past. However, we know one thing for sure. He is a child of God, and sponsorship through The Raining Season will provide him with a caring staff to love and disciple him so his light continues to shine.
