It’s #GivingTuesday! Each year, people like YOU give back to The Raining Season and help us continue our mission in Sierra Leone. We are so grateful that when a need arises, a long list of supporters are ready to jump in and support our children. Giving Tuesday is an impactful way to donate to small nonprofits doing great work. We know that there are many charities where you can share your money. We are VERY thankful for the many people that support us financially on Giving Tuesday and all through the year.
Are you looking for a way to give back on Giving Tuesday? $45 will sponsor a child for one month. $35 provides one bag of rice. $48 provides clean drinking water for all of our children for one month. If you feel called to give, you can make a quick DONATION that will have a lasting impact on the children we serve. Any amount given makes a BIG impact. Don’t miss out on the chance to be a part of something life changing!
On Giving Tuesday, we wanted to share a few ways your support has impacted The Raining Season this year. In February, our first young adult started University, and her university fees were provided by you. Now, eight more young adults are finishing applications hoping to enroll soon, and funds for their tuition have already begun to come in. A successful building campaign raised $55,000 throughout July and August and allowed us to secure The Covering for another year. As our school has grown to serve the surrounding community this year, donations to Education have enabled The Raining Season to purchase supplies to help develop the pre-k curriculum. In October, we launched a Meet the Need to raise the money needed to purchase new computers for four of our staff members. Our sponsors began giving to our annual Christmas Celebration in early November, and our children and staff are anticipating their Christmas party in December. The Raining Season has received medical donations to help ensure our children receive needed medical care and supplies. Finally, your regular giving to sponsorship and The Roots Project each month allows The Raining Season to provide excellent care in the most difficult conditions.
Needs arise, and the funds show up before we even have a chance to ask. God has always been so gracious in fulfilling our needs, and we are thankful for the financial support you provide all through the year.
It takes a village, and we are grateful that you are a part of our village.
As we close out 2022, we will once again be emailing 2022 tax statements to all individuals who have donated more than $250 this year. For donations under $250, a tax statement will be shared upon request. If you need to update your email address, please email donations@therainingseason.org. Please note that this is for our accounting and is separate from the weekly emails you receive. Donations postmarked or completed online by December 31, 2022, will be included in 2022 giving statements.
