How Does Sponsorship Make a Difference?

When you say “yes” to sponsorship, you make a difference in the life of one of our children, and you become part of their story. Our children come to TRS abandoned, hurt, and oftentimes hopeless. Because of the impact sponsorship has, piece by piece, slowly, they are rebuilt, transforming them from the inside out. Sponsorship provides a safe place for our kids to live, opportunity through education, nutritious food, essential medical care, spiritual nurturing every day, and so much more.

As we close out our May Sponsorship Drive, we are sharing the final three children we have highlighted this month who are in need of sponsors.

Meet Mabinty. She is eleven years old. Mabinty came to our center in September 2022 and joined an apartment of girls that quickly became her family. When we first opened our doors, we made a commitment to raising a new generation that would be healed from the inside out. Our children often come to us with fresh trauma. We know that the smiles come with time and trust. When you commit to sponsoring Mabinty, she will have a safe place to let her light shine.

Meet Mohamed. He is seven years old. Mohamed also came to our center in September 2022 from the Grafton community. Since coming to our center nearly nine months ago, he has blossomed and grown so much. At The Covering, Mohamed does not need to worry about his next meal or if he will have a bed to sleep in. Sponsorship provides Mohamed with three meals a day, clean water, and a bed to sleep in every night.

Meet Kevin. He came to our center as an infant in 2009. Today, he is fourteen years old and a very bright boy! When you commit to sponsoring Kevin, it ensures he has the stability to not only survive but thrive! He can focus on school and dream of a future. Your support allows Kevin to be a kid, just as he deserves.

Mabinty, Mohamed, and Kevin are only three of the many children who need your support through sponsorship, and you have the opportunity to show these children all of the love and support they deserve as their sponsors. When you say yes to sponsorship, you are helping to provide a staff focused solely on their care. Your monthly contribution allows our children to attend school and receive a quality education. Sponsoring also means access to medical care and vitamins so that they can continue to grow big and strong.

We are beyond grateful for the sponsors who have stepped in and increased their sponsorship giving this month. As we enter the final days of our May Sponsorship Drive, it is not too late to increase your current giving or sponsor a child in need. We have made some major progress, and we are looking forward to sharing the official numbers soon!

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
