Five Pillars of Hope: How Sponsorship Changes Everything

Every sponsorship at The Raining Season does more than meet a need.  It builds a foundation. Through your generosity, each child at The Covering is supported by five core pillars of care: Safety, Education, Medical, Nutrition, and Spiritual Growth. Together, these pillars represent the care each child deserves.

As we continue toward our goal of funding 27 sponsorships by Orphan Sunday on November 9th, we want to give you a closer look at how your sponsorship makes an impact through these five pillars and introduce you to some of the children whose lives are being transformed.

Safety – A Place to Call Home

Meet Kumba.  Kumba is thirteen years old. When The Raining Season first opened its doors, we made a promise to raise a new generation healed from the inside out. For Kumba, that healing begins with safety and a place where she can grow, dream, and be a child.

Through sponsorship, Kumba has a safe home and loving caregivers who are on-site twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. They provide stability, nurture, and emotional support, all of which are essential for a child’s growth and confidence. When you sponsor Kumba, you help ensure she never has to wonder where she belongs.

Education – Opening Doors to a Brighter Future

Meet Tamba.  Tamba is eight years old. He is full of curiosity and loves school. Because of sponsorship, he can focus on his education without worrying about what he will eat or where he will sleep. He attends The Raining Season Preparatory School located at The Covering, where sponsorship funds provide certified teachers, classroom materials, and school supplies for children from preschool through Junior Secondary School.

Your sponsorship also helps older students attend secondary school outside the center, covering fees, uniforms, and transportation. When you commit to sponsoring Tamba, you give him the stability and opportunity to dream of a future filled with possibilities.

Nutrition – Nourishing the Body

Meet Sahr.  Sahr is eleven years old. When Sahr arrived at The Covering, he was welcomed with open arms by the boys in his apartment. Each day, he now enjoys three meals and access to clean water, all made possible through sponsorship support.

Sponsorship dollars fund food, kitchen supplies, and the salaries of the cooks who prepare meals with love and care. For Sahr, this daily nourishment is more than food.  It is consistency, security, and a reminder that he is cared for.

Medical Care – Restoring Health

Meet Hilton.  Hilton is six years old and will turn seven next month. When Hilton came to The Raining Season, he was malnourished and in need of medical attention. Through sponsorship, he has received the care he needs to grow stronger every day. Regular checkups, access to medicine, and emergency care are all covered through the medical pillar of sponsorship.

Thanks to faithful sponsors, Hilton no longer shows signs of malnourishment and is thriving. Your sponsorship helps ensure that every child, like Hilton, receives the care they need to live a healthy, active life.

Spiritual Growth – Nurturing Faith

Meet Saffiatu.  Saffiatu is three years old.  At The Raining Season, every child learns that they are seen and loved by God. Our spiritual care pillar ensures that children grow not only physically and mentally, but also spiritually. Through daily devotionals, prayer, and discipleship, even our youngest children learn that they are created with purpose.

Little Saffiatu is learning songs about Jesus, hearing Bible stories, and growing up surrounded by love and faith. Sponsorship helps provide the staff and resources needed to nurture each child’s heart for Christ.

Every Sponsorship Matters

Each child at The Covering is supported through a team of sponsors, and each of these children is in need of sponsors. A child is considered fully sponsored when 10 sponsors each give $45 per month, together providing what the child needs to thrive. When you say “yes” to sponsorship, you connect with a child like Kumba, Tamba, Sahr, Hilton, and Saffiatu and help sustain all five pillars while providing safety, education, medical care, nutrition, and spiritual growth.

Your support ensures that every pillar remains strong, every child is cared for, and every story continues to unfold with hope.

As we continue toward our goal of funding 27 new sponsorships by Orphan Sunday, we invite you to pray, share, and give to help children like Kumba, Tamba, Sahr, Hilton, and Saffiatu experience the fullness of God’s provision.  As we ended week 2 of our James 1:27 Sponsorship Drive, we have $2,660 in pledged sponsorships of our $14,580 goal for the year ahead!

Are you unable to commit to monthly sponsorship? Can you make a one-time sponsorship gift this week?  $5, $10, or $25 makes a difference.  Make a one-time gift HERE.  Please note “Sponsorship Drive” in the notes.

Together, we are building something lasting.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
