Meet Fatima and Yusif
In late August, The Covering welcomed two new children into The Raining Season family. Meet siblings Fatima, age 5, and Yusif, age 8.
As they begin this new chapter, we are asking our TRS family to surround them with love and support through sponsorship and prayer. Coming to a new home is a big change for any child. There are new faces, new routines, and so much to learn. For Fatima and Yusif, The Covering is now a place where they can begin to find stability, grow in trust, and experience the love and care they deserve.
We are grateful that, as siblings, they are together as they adjust to their new surroundings, and that through The Raining Season, they have a family ready to welcome them, care for them, and help them discover hope for the future. A Place to Be Safe
Every child deserves a safe place to call home. At The Covering, Fatima and Yusif are surrounded by caring staff who are committed to their well-being. Through the safety pillar of The Raining Season, they have a place to sleep, caregivers who look after them, and a community of other children who welcome them as part of the family.

A Place to Learn and Grow
Education is an important part of The Raining Season’s mission because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, discover, and dream about their future. Through the education pillar, sponsorship helps provide school fees, supplies, uniforms, teachers, and the support children need to succeed. At The Covering, our children can receive an education while growing in confidence and discovering what they are capable of.
For Fatima and Yusif, this means having the support they need to begin building a foundation for their future.
A Place Where Their Needs Are Met
Children cannot thrive when their basic needs are uncertain. The Raining Season’s medical pillar helps ensure that Fatima and Yusif have access to medical care when they need it. Our onsite clinic provides essential care and first aid, and our staff works to support the health and well-being of the children. The nutrition pillar provides the everyday necessities children need to grow. Through sponsorship, children at The Covering receive nutritious meals, clean water, and the care of staff who prepare and serve their food.
These things may seem simple, but they are essential. A child who has food to eat, access to medical care, and a safe place to rest has the foundation needed to learn, grow, and flourish.
A Place to Know They Are Loved
At the heart of The Raining Season is the belief that every child is made in the image of God and deserves to be loved and cared for. Through the spiritual pillar, Fatima and Yusif will have the opportunity to learn about Jesus, grow in their faith, and experience the love of Christ through the people around them. The Covering is more than a place to live. It is a community where children are welcomed, encouraged, and reminded that they are not forgotten.
As Fatima and Yusif settle into their new home, we pray that they will come to know the love of Jesus through their caregivers, the other children, and the sponsors who choose to stand beside them.
The Raining Season’s five core pillars work together to provide the care children need every day, and sponsorship makes this care possible.
