Prayer has carried us through some of our most challenging seasons. Over and over, we’ve seen God provide, protect, and guide us, often in ways we could never have imagined. As we enter the heaviest part of the rainy season in Sierra Leone, we are asking our community to join us in prayer this week. Here are three specific ways you can pray for The Raining Season.

Pray for Protection During the Rainy Season
Sierra Leone is entering its peak rainy season, and with it comes the threat of flooding, mudslides, and other dangerous conditions. Each year, we are reminded of the devastating impact the rainy season brings to Sierra Leone. The Covering has long been a refuge from the rains. We give thanks for the safety and shelter it provides and ask that you join us in praying for continued protection for our children, staff, and the surrounding community. Pray that God would hold back damaging rains, protect homes, and bring peace to families facing uncertainty.

Pray for Children in Need of Sponsors
Sponsorship changes lives. It helps meet the daily needs of our children and gives them access to education, medical care, food, and spiritual guidance. Right now, several children at The Covering are waiting for someone to say “yes” to walking alongside them. Pray that hearts would be moved to respond, that new sponsors would be called to action, and that every child would know they are seen, known, and loved.

Pray for Strength and Encouragement for Our Staff
Our staff works tirelessly to love and care for the children at The Covering. Many serve day and night to provide stability, nurture, and guidance to those who call this place home. As they face long days and ongoing challenges, please pray for their physical strength, emotional resilience, and spiritual encouragement. Pray that they would feel supported and uplifted, knowing that they are making an eternal impact.
Your prayers matter. They strengthen our mission, cover our children, and remind us that we are not alone in this work. Thank you for standing with us this week and always.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
