5 Ways to Pray for TRS this Week

This Friday, March 6th, marks 2026’s World Day of Prayer.  As we reflect on The Lord’s faithfulness to The Raining Season over the past sixteen years, we are filled with gratitude. He has provided. He has protected. He has blessed. Time and again, we have seen His hand at work at The Raining Season and in Sierra Leone.

This week, we invite you to lift up The Raining Season in prayer. Whether you pray once or every day this week, please know that your prayers matter to our children, our staff, and the communities we serve. We serve a BIG God, and because of that, we pray bold prayers.

Pray for Children in Need of Sponsors

Every sponsorship at The Raining Season does more than meet a need.  Sponsorship changes lives. It builds a foundation.  It provides education, medical care, food, spiritual discipleship, and daily safety and stability for the children who call The Covering home. Right now, several children are waiting for someone to say “yes” to walking alongside them through sponsorship.  Pray that hearts would be stirred. Pray that new sponsors would feel called to step forward. Pray that every child would know they are seen, known, and deeply loved.

Pray for Strength and Encouragement for Our Staff

Our staff works tirelessly to love and care for the children at The Covering. They serve day in and day out, providing stability, love, and guidance to each child who calls TRS home. As they face long days and ongoing challenges, please pray for their physical strength, emotional resilience, and spiritual encouragement. Pray that they would feel supported and uplifted, knowing that they are making an eternal impact.

Also, lift up our in-country leadership staff as they guide the mission forward. Pray for wisdom in decision-making, compassion in leading our team, and clarity as they steward resources well. May they continue to love, disciple, and serve faithfully as they carry out the mission God has entrusted to TRS.

Pray for Upcoming School Activities

Our students are preparing for special school events, including sports day and our Thanksgiving service. Pray that these activities would bring joy, growth, and unity to the students and staff. We pray that the Lord will bless each event and use it to strengthen the community both inside and outside our gates.  Thank you, Lord, for our school that continues to impact the broader community in Freetown, and we pray for continued impact and growth.

Pray for the Kono Land Project

As we continue planning for our land project in Kono, we pray boldly over what is to come. May this project be a place of growth, opportunity, and hope for vulnerable children and families. Pray for provision of resources, unity among partners, and wisdom for every step forward.

Pray for the Health of Our Children

Please pray for the physical health and emotional well-being of every child who has entered our gates. We pray that they will be protected from illness, that their bodies will be strengthened, and that they will be surrounded by His peace.

Thank you for standing with The Raining Season this week on World Day of Prayer. Our prayers may be bold at times,  but they are rooted in trust in a faithful and powerful God. The stories of redemption we witness are His alone. Your prayers strengthen our mission, cover our children, and remind us we are never serving alone.

Will you join us on March 6th?

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
