This time of year leaves us thinking about freedom. Independence Day holds deep significance in both Sierra Leone and the United States. While Independence Day in Sierra Leone is celebrated each year on April 27th, many of our faithful supporters in the U.S. will gather to mark their own Independence Day on July 4th. While these celebrations are rooted in different histories, both symbolize something powerful — freedom.

At The Covering, freedom is more than a national celebration. It is something our children live and breathe each day because of you and a staff that cares for and disciples them.

Thanks to your prayers, generosity, and unwavering support, and because of the incredible, faithful staff who walk alongside our children daily, freedom takes shape in life-giving ways. Our children experience freedom in Christ, freedom from the burden of sin, freedom from fear, freedom from poverty, and freedom from hunger. They experience freedom to pursue their dreams through education and hope for a future that looks brighter than the past.

At The Raining Season, our mission remains to stand in the gap for vulnerable children in Sierra Leone. Until there is true freedom from poverty, we will keep fighting, showing up, and believing that every child deserves the chance to thrive. Your partnership is essential in making that mission possible.

Thank you for joining us in this work. We celebrate the freedom our children experience today and pray for even greater freedom for tomorrow.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
