Happy New Year! It was another exciting end to the year at The Covering with special Christmas events. The days leading up to Christmas were filled with celebration and gratitude for both our children and staff.

Our annual Christmas celebration, one of the most anticipated events of the year, was held on December 20th. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, the children enjoyed a festive evening with food, drinks, and music. Our staff in Sierra Leone brought in a DJ that kept the celebration going as the children danced and laughed late into the night. What fun memories they were able to make!

This year, each child received new African dress clothing and shoes, as well as a pair of pants and a top, helping to set our children up for the year ahead. Our children who have been reunified were also invited to join the celebration, and it was a joy to welcome those who could attend.

On December 22nd, our in-country staff gathered to celebrate our incredible team during the staff Christmas party. Food and drinks were shared, music filled the room, and time was taken to acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown throughout the year. Our management team spoke to encourage our staff toward continued commitment to our mission, and as a token of appreciation, each staff member received a Christmas bonus.

Throughout the holiday season, we were also blessed by visitors who stopped by the center to make donations. We are always thankful for every act of generosity and kindness from those who choose to bless our children and staff all through the year.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas festivities. These celebrations are just one way your generosity goes beyond meeting basic needs and helps create moments of joy. Because of you, our children are not only surviving, but thriving. We are so grateful for your prayers and support, and we look forward to continuing this mission together in 2026.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
