February Update from Sierra Leone

This week, we have a couple of quick updates from Sierra Leone to share with you, including news on our young adults starting university and monthly rice distributions. All our kids have been busy settling back into their school routine as the new term began in January. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead!

UNIVERSITY UPDATE

We are excited to share that four young adults from The Raining Season family, Aminata, Josephine, Adamsay, and Alusine, are officially enrolled at Milton Margai University. They began classes in January and participated in their matriculation ceremony later that month.  This marks an important milestone in their educational journeys. We are extremely proud of their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing higher education, and we look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the years ahead.

MONTHLY RICE DISTRIBUTIONS

Thanks to the faithful generosity of our sponsors and donors, The Raining Season is able to continue providing monthly rice distributions to the young adults who have transitioned back into their communities. During each home visit from Uncle Mohamed or Auntie Doris, families receive a supply of rice to help meet basic needs and provide practical support as these young adults work toward independence and focus on their education. Our sponsorship Coordinator, Karen Pyle, sends photos of the monthly rice distribution to sponsors.

2025 GIVING STATEMENTS

2025 Tax Giving Statements were EMAILED from thank-you@donorperfect-mail.com to your inbox on January 16th. If you did not see it, be sure to check your junk or spam folder. If you have questions or did not receive your 2025 giving statement, please email: donations@therainingseason.org. Thank you for supporting The Raining Season in 2025!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please join us in praying for The Raining Season family. Pray for our young adults who are just beginning university, that God would guide and strengthen them in this new chapter. We also ask for His grace, protection, and endurance over every child and staff member at The Covering, as they continue to serve and grow together each day. We pray for the children who have been reunified, giving them peace, protection, and hope in this new season. Thank you for covering The Raining Season in prayer.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
