Giving Tuesday

It’s Giving Tuesday! Every year, people like YOU give back to The Raining Season and help us continue our mission in Sierra Leone. We are forever grateful that when a need arises, there is a long list of supporters ready to jump in and support our children. Any amount given makes a BIG impact. We know that there are many charities where you can share your money. We are VERY thankful for the many people that support us financially all through the year.

With only a few weeks left in the year and the holidays quickly approaching, we are taking time on this Giving Tuesday to reflect on the faithfulness of the Lord this past year. New computers for Skype, Child Sponsorship, funds for a Christmas Celebration, and a new Roots Home are only a few ways that your financial support has impacted the children at The Raining Season this year.

As we close out 2020, we will once again be emailing 2020 tax statements to all individuals who have donated more than $250 this year. For donations under $250, a tax statement will be shared upon request. If you need to update your email address, please email donations@therainingseason.org. Please note, this is for our accounting and separate from the weekly emails you receive.

As we begin to look ahead to 2021, it is not too late to give a 100% tax-deductible donation to The Raining Season. Donations postmarked or completed online by December 31, 2020, will be included on 2020 giving statements. Did you know that you can designate where your donation goes? If you have something specific in mind for your donation WRITE IT IN THE NOTES! If donations are not specifically designated, they typically go into the general fund. TRS uses the general fund to cover things such as expenses for children who are not fully sponsored, supplies for the center, the Roots Project, and administrative expenses.

Your financial support ensures that our children have access to clean water, a bed to sleep in, food in their bellies, access to education, and an incredible staff to love and disciple them.

As we reflect on the whirlwind of 2020 and the wonderful things happening at The Raining Season despite a global pandemic, we are grateful for the many ways that the Lord has provided this year. Your end of year gift will help us to continue this important mission in 2021.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
