As the school year winds down, we have a couple of quick updates from Sierra Leone to share with you, including a new child who recently joined The Raining Season family, upcoming graduation ceremonies, and end-of-year exams for our children. We are so proud of the hard work our children have put into their academics this year, and we are excited to share a few important updates and prayer requests with you.
Meet Alfred
Alfred was recently placed in our care by The Ministry of Gender and Children's Affairs. He is nineteen months old. As we welcome him to The Covering, there is an urgent need for people to connect with him through sponsorship. The Raining Season Sponsorship Program is an essential part of TRS that helps fund and support various pillars of our mission to care for vulnerable children in Sierra Leone. When you say yes to sponsorship, you connect with a child and support The Raining Season's five core pillars – safety, education, medical, spiritual, and nutrition. You can learn more about sponsorship by emailing our sponsorship coordinator, Karen Pyle, at sponsorship@therainingseason.org.

Nursery School & Grade 6 Graduation
For the second year, The Raining Season Preparatory School will hold an end-of-year graduation ceremony for students completing Nursery School and Grade Six. This year's ceremony will take place on June 28th. Graduation is always a special time as we celebrate our students' growth, achievement, and potential. Please join us in cheering on our graduates and thanking the dedicated teachers who walk alongside them each day.

End of Year Exams
The children are currently in the middle of exams, which began on Monday, June 9th, and will continue through June 13th. Promotional exams will follow shortly after, running through the second week of July. These assessments are a key part of helping our students grow and reach their academic goals.
Six of our children will take the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) from June 25th to July 4th. Passing this exam will allow these students to promote to junior secondary school in the fall.
The West African Senior School Certificate Exams also concluded this week. Our young adults taking this exam have spent the school year preparing for it. Passing this exam would be a big step toward their futures as it would allow them to apply to University.

Day of the African Child
On June 16th, our children will join with others across Africa to celebrate the Day of the African Child. This day honors the dreams, voices, and educational rights of children in Africa. It is always filled with joy, reflection, and a renewed commitment to nurturing each child's potential.
Summer Break at The Covering
The school year will end on July 18th for our children at The Covering. After a short break, The Raining Season Preparatory School will again offer summer school classes. These classes will provide our children and children in the community with continued structure, enrichment, and learning during the summer months.

Prayer Requests
Please join us in praying for our children as they prepare and take their final exams for the school year, especially the six students preparing to begin the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE). Also, pray as our school looks to expand next school year. This expansion would be a big step forward in providing consistent, high-quality education within the walls of The Covering. Pray for wisdom for our staff as they prepare for this next chapter.
Thank you for standing with us. Your prayers, encouragement, and support continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of our children and staff. We are truly grateful!
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
