This week, we are excited to share some updates from The Raining Season, including an upcoming matching campaign, another matriculation ceremony, a special fundraiser happening in the Bahamas that will bless The Raining Season’s library and school, birthday celebrations, and upcoming activities at TRS. We are looking forward to an exciting month ahead!
LITTLE BY LITTLE MATCHING CAMPAIGN
Something special is coming! From March 17-20, your donation can go even further during GlobalGiving’s Little by Little campaign.
Thanks to GlobalGiving, all donations up to $50 will be matched at 50% while funds last. Every small gift adds up to create real change for The Raining Season and vulnerable children in Sierra Leone.
The campaign starts at 10:00 AM EST/9:00 AM CST on March 17th. Save the date and get ready to be part of this global celebration of small acts creating big change! The donation link will be shared via email and on social media on March 17th at 10:00 AM EST/9:00 AM CST.
PAULEN’S MATRICULATION CEREMONY
We are excited to share that another young adult from The Raining Season family, Paulen, is now attending Eastern Polytechnic College in Kenema. In early February, she participated in her matriculation ceremony, marking an important milestone in her educational journey. We are extremely proud of her hard work, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing higher education, and we look forward to seeing all that she will accomplish in the years ahead.
MISSION ADVANCE BOOK & COMPUTER DRIVE
We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Mission Advances on a special project that will bless students in Sierra Leone. They are currently collecting donations of books and educational supplies in the Bahamas to fill a shipping container headed to Sierra Leone, and some of these resources will help bless The Raining Season’s library and school!
Access to books and learning materials makes a lasting difference for our students, and we’re thankful to be part of this effort.

FEBRUARY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
On February 28th, our monthly birthday celebration was held. Our kids and staff had the opportunity to celebrate our kids with birthdays in February. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue holding monthly birthday celebrations in 2026. Our kids really look forward to it! On the final Saturday of each month, all of our kids gather to celebrate the birthdays from that month. Auntie Marie makes a cake and prepares food, and the kids enjoy a meal, soda, and cake. They love being celebrated by their friends and enjoy the special treats that come with the birthday celebrations.
UPCOMING SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Our children have several special activities coming up at school, including Sports Day and The Raining Season Preparatory School’s Thanksgiving Service. The Thanksgiving Service will take place on March 22nd, and Sports Day will take place on April 24th. Both activities are highly anticipated by the children and are a time to have fun and give thanks for all the Lord is doing at The Raining Season, in the community, and in Sierra Leone.
