May Sponsorship Drive Final Update

In May, we set out on a bold campaign with a goal of joining hands with twenty-five new sponsors and increasing twenty-five current sponsorships for the children at The Covering. We are grateful to report that twenty-five children had their sponsorship increased, allowing us to meet one-half of our goal! Also, since launching our sponsorship drive on May 1st, we have gained ten new child sponsorships.

Sponsorship is the heart and soul of The Raining Season. Without sponsorship, we would be unable to pay a staff that shows up every day to care for the children who enter our gates. They provide safety for our kids. Our children find love, protection, and a family atmosphere with the support of more than sixty staff members focused solely on their care. Without sponsorship, we would be unable to provide clean water, food, and vitamins to our nearly one hundred children. Without sponsorship, there would be no center to provide a roof over their heads. A shelter from the heavy rains that come in August and September and the dry heat that follows in January. Without sponsorship, our children would not receive the best possible medical care that provides relief from Malaria and other illnesses. Without sponsorship, our children would not have access to quality education. Education that allows them to score higher than most on national tests. Education that allows them to dream of a future as an accountant, a doctor, or a lawyer. Our sponsorship program is a critical part of the sustainability of The Raining Season. These five pillars are necessary but only brush the surface of what your sponsorship dollars provide.

Even though our May Sponsorship Drive has come to an end, we are far from finished. We will continue to work toward our goal of partnering with twenty-five new sponsors. We will continue to fight for each child that enters our gates. We will ensure that they have access to a safe place to live, opportunity through education, nutritious food, essential medical care, and spiritual nurturing every day.

Our kids are the reason why we do what we do. They are the reason you say yes to sponsorship and the reason our staff shows up every day. They are the reason why, nearly fifteen years ago, our founders said yes to something bigger than themselves in Sierra Leone. We are raising up a new generation, one that will bring hope for the future, and we invite you to link arms with us through SPONSORSHIP. Thank you for the many ways you continue to support The Raining Season and the children we serve.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
