We want to introduce you to some new faces at The Raining Season. We recently welcomed five new children to The Raining Season family. Meet twins Amie and Finda and their siblings Tamba, Sahr, and Kumba. This sibling group was recently placed in our care by The Ministry of Gender and Children's Affairs. Before coming to Freetown, they were living in a province; however, very sadly, both their mother and their father are deceased, so they were placed at TRS. In the midst of their grief, we offer a safe haven and loving embrace to Amie, Finda, Tamba, Sahr, and Kumba, the newest members of The Raining Season family.
As we welcome them to The Covering, there is an urgent need for people to connect with them through sponsorship. The Raining Season Sponsorship Program is an essential part of TRS that helps fund and support various pillars of our mission to care for vulnerable children in Sierra Leone. When you say yes to sponsorship, you connect with a child and support The Raining Season's five core pillars – safety, education, medical, spiritual, and nutrition. Today, we are introducing you to these new children and sharing more about how your sponsorship support impacts these children related to each of the five pillars.
Meet Amie. Amie is four years old. There are many unknowns about her past. However, we know one thing for sure. She is a child of God, and sponsorship through The Raining Season will provide her with a caring staff to love and disciple her so her light can shine. Many children learn about Jesus for the first time when they come to TRS. When you say yes to sponsoring Amie, you are also supporting The Raining Season's church, which ensures our children have access to Bibles and a pastor on staff who is dedicated to fostering their Christian faith.

Meet Amie's twin sister, Finda. Finda is four years old. You have the opportunity to show Finda all of the love and support she deserves as her sponsor. Did you know that The Raining Season has its own medical center onsite? It employs a registered nurse to run the clinic and perform simple medical care and first aid. The clinic also carries much-needed supplies and medicine for the children. Sponsorship ensures Finda and all the children have access to needed medical care.

Meet Tamba. Tamba is eight years old. When you commit to sponsoring Tamba, he will have the stability needed to not only survive but thrive! He can focus on school and dream of a future. Sponsorship supports education for all the children. Tamba will attend The Raining Season Preparatory School located at The Covering. Because of sponsorship, our onsite school can provide school materials and supplies, certified teachers, and services for children from preschool through grade six. Sponsorship support also allows older children to attend secondary school outside the center and assists in paying for school fees, supplies, transportation, uniforms, and shoes.

Meet Sahr. Sahr is eleven years old. He is adjusting to life at the center after being welcomed to his apartment by the boys. Sponsorship helps ensure that Sahr and all the children have access to three meals a day and clean water. Sponsorship funds help purchase cooking supplies and pay the cooking staff to prepare the meals.

Meet Kumba. Kumba is thirteen years old. When we first opened our doors, we made a commitment to raising a new generation that would be healed from the inside out. When you commit to sponsoring Kumba, she will have a safe place to grow and dream. When you sponsor Kumba, you are helping to provide a staff focused solely on the care of the children. Our caregivers are onsite twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The Raining Season isn't just a shelter but a lifeline for vulnerable children like these siblings in Sierra Leone. At the heart of our mission to provide a hopeful future and seek justice for these children lies our vital Sponsorship Program. Our children at The Covering are able to receive the best possible care, including a safe place to live, opportunity through education, nutritious food, essential medical care, and spiritual nurturing every day. Your generous support of these children ensures they have this TOGETHER as siblings.
Can you partner with The Raining Season to show these children the love and support they deserve? Email our sponsorship coordinator, Karen Pyle, at sponsorship@therainingseason.org to learn more about sponsoring one of these children.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
