September marked fifteen years of The Raining Season. We will share more soon, but we have come a long way in fifteen years. There have been incredible highs, lessons learned, and mountains moved. We have experienced joy, heartache, and everything in between. Through it all, we rejoiced, prayed, and gave thanks. Since opening our doors in 2009, we have watched our small child care center grow and serve hundreds of vulnerable children. We have called three buildings home and watched children grow and thrive under our roof. We have celebrated birthdays, baptisms, and Christmases. The Covering allowed us to shelter through both Ebola and COVID-19. In 2018, we named our first Sierra Leonean in-country Director. In 2022, The Raining Season Primary School opened its doors to the community, and in 2023, we announced our plan to build our own center on our own land in Kono.
Join us today as we share some picture slideshows from the past fifteen years. Sometimes, looking back at where we started allows us to celebrate where we are and continue to grow our vision of what is to come. It takes a village, and we are thankful for you, our prayer warriors, sponsors, financial supporters, cheerleaders, travelers, and so much more.
Thank you for your unwavering support. Because of your support, The Raining Season is able to offer a safe place to live, opportunity through education, nutritious food, essential medical care, and spiritual nurturing every day. We are grateful for the sacrifices you have made to continue sponsoring, supporting our staff and kids, and for your continued prayers. We are looking forward to the future of The Raining Season, what lies ahead, and the impact The Raining Season will continue to have in Sierra Leone.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
