For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6
Merry Christmas to you and your family! As we celebrate a Savior born in Bethlehem, we are thankful for the many ways the Lord has blessed us this year. He has shown us grace and mercy. He protected our children and staff from COVID-19, and the Lord has provided us with a multitude of supporters and prayer warriors who are with us through it all. The children who enter the gates of The Raining Season are transformed as they learn about Jesus and His faithfulness. Because of Him, we celebrate stories of restoration and healing. As we enter into the final week of the Christmas season, Pastor Sam Bendu Laggah has shared a Christmas message for the TRS Family.
From TRS Logistics Officer, Pastor Sam Bendu Laggah:
The Christmas season is already here. Many of us have had a difficult year this year with illness, loss, uncertain employment, and isolation due to COVID, but the Bible clearly says in everything we must give thanks unto the Lord for this is good. Many people have died, and some lost their loved ones and family members, while others lost their jobs, but we thank God for keeping us alive unto this very moment. Since there is life, there is hope that better days are coming soon and COVID-19 will be things of the past.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given the Lamb of God who carries the weight of the world on His shoulders. Isaiah 9:6
The birth of Jesus was not just an ordinary birth, because Jesus wasn't just an ordinary baby. His birth was the incarnation of God, meaning that God put on flesh and lived among us. That was why in Matthew 1:23, the Bible says; “The virgin will be with a child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means, 'God with us.'” God is here with us, and He will make things turn around. He is the giver of life, He restores the brokenhearted, He brings peace to all, and he changes situations in a second.
Jesus referred to himself as "the light of the world." (John 8:12) Whenever we see the lights of Christmas, let them remind us that they recall Christ, our true light. In a time of great darkness, God promised to send light that would shine on everyone living in the shadow of death. He is both a "wonderful counselor" and a "mighty God." This message of hope was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the establishment of His eternal kingdom. He came to bring peace, hope, and deliver all people from their sins. May Jehovah continue to shower His never-ending protection over you and your family.
Wishing you a very joyful Christmas and holiday season despite these difficult times. We really wish things were different. We hope that the New Year brings your family much happiness and prosperity and that in time the world will be a safe place again. Take care of yourselves.
