Meet Four Incredible Children in Need of Sponsors

At The Raining Season, we believe that every child deserves more than just the chance to survive.  They deserve the opportunity to thrive. When a child comes to The Covering, they are often stepping out of incredibly difficult circumstances. Some have lost parents. Some have faced hunger, instability, or unsafe living conditions. But with love, care, and the right support, redemption can be a part of their story.  

A crucial part of that support is sponsorship.  Sponsorship doesn't just provide food, clothing, and education — although it certainly does all of that!  It reminds each child that someone, somewhere, believes in them. Sponsorship gives a child a story that includes a future filled with possibility.

Last week, we shared an urgent need for sponsors for Amie and Fatu, one-month-old twins who were recently placed in our care.  They are still in need of additional sponsors, but we are beyond grateful for the response that we received and for the people willing to pray, share, and commit to supporting them monthly through sponsorship.  

Today, we would like to introduce you to four other children who are newer to The Covering.   Each one is full of potential, personality, and promise, but they are still waiting for a sponsor to walk alongside them in their journey.

Did you know that The Raining Season is home to multiple sets of twins and even a set of triplets?  Four-year-old twins Amie and Finda, along with their three siblings, were placed in our care in March.  Amie and Finda, along with their eight-year-old brother Tamba, have been waiting four months for a sponsor.  Imagine what a special gift it will be to hear they have a sponsor who loves and cares about them.  Because of sponsorship, our children at The Covering receive the best possible care, including a safe place to live, opportunity through education, nutritious food, essential medical care, and spiritual nurturing every day.  Your generous support of these children ensures they have this TOGETHER as siblings.

Alfred is also newer to The Covering and waiting for his first sponsor.  He is twenty months old and has been waiting nearly two months for a sponsor to say yes.  He is adjusting well to the toddler room and is loved by the staff and children at The Raining Season.  He is surrounded by attentive caregivers who support his development and ensure he is hitting key milestones. Alfred receives healthy meals, medical checkups, and plenty of playtime to help him grow and thrive. 

The Raining Season Sponsorship Program is an essential part of TRS that helps fund and support various pillars of our mission to care for vulnerable children in Sierra Leone, like one-month-old twins Amie and Fatu, four-year-old twins Amie and Finda, eight-year-old Tamba, and twenty-month-old Alfred.
