Staff Feature – Meet Letricia Thomas

At The Raining Season, our staff is the heartbeat of the mission. Each day, they pour out their time, energy, and love to ensure our children are cared for in every way. Today, we are honored to introduce you to one of those incredible team members, Letricia Thomas.

Letricia has been faithfully serving with The Raining Season since February 2018. For the past seven years, she has been an essential part of our team as Head Nurse, overseeing the health and well-being of the children in our care. Her role includes monitoring the clinic at The Covering, updating medical histories, teaching proper hygiene, and ensuring that every child’s health needs are met with compassion and excellence.

Her journey to The Raining Season began through a friend who encouraged her to apply. Since joining our staff in 2018, she has become not only a trusted nurse but also a valued member of our TRS family.

Letricia’s love for children is what drives her each day. She shares, “I love kids, the peaceful working environment, and TRS feels like a family.” That sense of family is very important to her. As the firstborn of two children and now a mother to a two-year-old daughter, she brings both her professional training and personal experience as a parent into her work.

Life has not been without hardship.  Letricia recently lost her fiancé in August of this year. Even in the midst of personal grief, she continues to show up with dedication, strength, and love for the children she serves. 

Looking ahead, Letricia hopes to see The Raining Season expand across Sierra Leone, reaching even more vulnerable children with the love, care, and stability they need. She also took time to express gratitude, saying, “May God continue to bless all the sponsors.”

We are so thankful for Letricia’s faithful service, her compassionate heart, and the countless ways she impacts the lives of the children at TRS each day.
