Birthdays at The Covering

At The Raining Season, every child’s life is worth celebrating, and birthdays are just one special opportunity to do that.  We’ve made it a tradition to ensure each child in our care feels seen, valued, and celebrated, including on their birthday.

Each month, our children and staff gather together to celebrate the children whose birthdays fall within that month. These parties are filled with music, dancing, cake, laughter, and heartfelt words of encouragement. Whether it’s a toddler turning three or a teenager stepping into a new chapter, these celebrations remind our children that they are loved by God and by all who support them.

From special treats and festive decorations to birthday songs and photos, our staff works to make the day joyful and memorable. Our caregivers, staff, and other children join in to cheer, clap, and share in the joy because birthdays at TRS aren’t just about the individual, they are about community, too.

It may seem like a small thing, a slice of cake, a balloon, a song, but it can mean so much more for a child who may have never experienced a birthday celebration before. These celebrations build confidence, create lasting memories, and remind each child of their worth.
