The Raining Season Preparatory School Graduation

Since opening its doors to the community in the fall of 2022, The Raining Season Preparatory School has continued to grow into a thriving school community. Today, the school serves more than 130 children from both The Raining Season and the surrounding community, providing a quality education. This past fall, the school expanded to include junior secondary students. Under the leadership of Pastor Sam Laggah, students continue to learn, grow, and prepare for bright futures.

On June 27, students, families, teachers, and community members gathered to celebrate another exciting milestone at the school’s annual graduation ceremony. This year’s celebration honored students moving from Nursery 3 to Grade 1 and from Grade 6 to Junior Secondary School.

A total of 11 Nursery 3 students and 20 Grade 6 students graduated. Among them were six children from The Covering, including two Nursery 3 graduates and four Grade 6 graduates. We are incredibly proud of each of these students and the hard work that brought them to this important day.

Graduation is a meaningful tradition in Sierra Leone. It celebrates not only academic achievement but also the dedication, perseverance, and growth of each student as they move to the next stage of their education. It is a day when families, teachers, and community leaders come together to recognize the accomplishments of the children and encourage them on the journey ahead.

The ceremony began with the graduates singing a hymn, followed by cultural dance performances by both the Nursery 3 and Grade 6 students. Graduates proudly walked in their caps and gowns to receive their certificates, making for a memorable celebration.

This year’s special guest speaker was Mr. Christopher Grant, a distinguished school manager with Rising Academy, where many of our children attend Grades 10 through 12 after completing Junior Secondary School. His message, titled “Nurturing Young Minds for a Brighter Future,” encouraged both parents and teachers to continue investing in the lives of children, reminding everyone that the partnership between home and school plays an important role in shaping the next generation.

When asked what graduation means to him, Pastor Sam shared, “Graduation is a time of recognizing hard work and success.” Those simple words capture the heart of this celebration. Every certificate represents countless hours of learning, encouragement, and determination.

As the school year comes to a close on July 17, we celebrate not only our graduates but every student, teacher, and staff member who has made this year a success. Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for and support The Raining Season Preparatory School. Because of your partnership, children are being equipped with the education, confidence, and hope they need for the future.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 graduates!

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
