As the twenty-first Budapest-Bamako Rally ended in Freetown, Sierra Leone, their mission of giving back blessed the Raining Season in early February and March.
The Budapest-Bamako Rally is one of the world’s largest amateur cross-continental adventure rallies. This year, the rally returned to Sierra Leone in two waves with the mission of bringing hope and opportunity to rural communities and children. The first rally reached its destination in early February, followed by a second “Adventure Extra” rally that ended in early March.

Starting in Budapest, Hungary, participants in the 2026 rallies traveled thousands of miles across varied terrain through Europe into Africa and down the West African coast before arriving at the official finish line in Freetown. Along the way, teams took part in humanitarian efforts across multiple countries, including Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, and Sierra Leone.

During their time in Freetown, several rally teams visited The Raining Season and generously donated essential supplies. These included eight computers, clothing, medicine, and hygiene items. Most notably, was the donation of a 1993 Renault car, which will play an important role in transporting children to and from medical appointments. We are so grateful for these thoughtful contributions and for the lasting difference they will make in the lives of our children.
While giving back and supporting vulnerable children throughout Africa was a primary goal of the rallies, it also brought meaningful economic benefits to the region. Increased demand for hotels, food, and transportation services boosted the local economy, while the international presence helped raise awareness of Sierra Leone. Events like this encourage cultural exchange, support community development, and highlight Sierra Leone's hospitality on a global stage.

Thank you again to the rally participants who chose to give back to The Raining Season during their time in Sierra Leone. Your generosity has made a tangible and lasting impact on The Raining Season community.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
