Easter Baptisms at The Raining Season

On Easter Sunday, a very special celebration took place for The Raining Season family. Twenty-seven of our children publicly declared their faith in Jesus through baptism in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  It was a beautiful moment, filled with joy, reverence, and the unmistakable presence of God.  This celebration of new life was the culmination of months of prayerful preparation.

The baptism journey began in November 2024, when these children expressed their desire to learn more about baptism and deepen their walk with Christ. Over the next five months, Pastor William spent time teaching and preparing them through intentional discipleship as well as baptism training materials.  A baptism class was held that included Bible-based teaching, interactive discussions, and regular assessments.  Pastor William, along with our leadership staff and other local pastors, helped guide the children through what it truly means to follow Jesus and commit to Him publicly.  As they prepared for this special time and took the time to truly grasp the weight and joy of their decision, Easter Sunday, marked by Christ's resurrection, felt like the perfect date for baptisms.

On the afternoon of Easter Sunday, the twenty-seven children were accompanied by two aunties and Pastor William to Lumley Atlantic Beach. There, they were joined by Rev. John and two coast guards from the National Tourist Board who served as lifeguards for the occasion.  Rev. John is the pastor of the church members of the TRS management staff attend.  He contributed to the teaching, mentoring, and encouragement of the candidates at the center as they prepared for baptism.

Before the baptisms began, Rev. John interviewed the candidates, offered encouragement, and led a moment of prayer. With hearts ready, each child stepped forward one by one to be baptized. The joy on their faces said it all. These moments were testimonies of God's faithfulness and the new life He brings.

Pastor William shared these words as he reflected on this special day: "As the pastor, my specific plan is to help the children grow in grace and knowledge of our savior Jesus Christ through discipleship training and help maximize their abilities for ministry in other churches or functionaries other than TRS. Based on my experience, these children have great potential that needs to be nurtured."

After the baptisms, the children had a few minutes to wash up, take photos, and receive words of encouragement. Each child was also given their very own Bible, a gift to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus as they continue their faith journey.

We are so proud of each one of these young hearts for taking this important step. It was a special day celebrating Christ's resurrection and the new life He brings us all. Please join us in praying for these twenty-seven children as they walk forward in faith. May they grow strong in the Lord, rooted in His word, and bold in their purpose.  We pray for Paulen,  Mohamed M., Kevin, Musa, Samba, Ernest, Borbor, Esther, Mariama K., Teange, Sarah, Umaru,  Kadiatu K., Alford, Davida, John, Mabinty, Shadrach, Mohamed F., Janet, Abednego (Alex), Mohamed M., Joshua B., Meshach (Tom), Jacob, Nyakeh, and Sullay.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
