Easter is a season of joy, renewal, and hope. At The Raining Season, we see the spirit of Easter reflected in the resilience of the children we serve. Despite the challenges they face, these children are full of hope and determination. We witness hope blooming even in the face of hardship and renewal as the children put their faith in Jesus.
Over the last forty days, we have been reflecting on the meaning of Easter and the importance of Jesus' sacrifice. At The Raining Season, we believe that Easter is a time to remember the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus for our salvation. This Sunday, we will rejoice in his resurrection.
We are reminded every day of the importance of hope and renewal, especially in times of struggle. The children we serve inspire us to keep pushing forward and to never lose faith. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve them and to witness the incredible resilience of the human spirit.
In 2022, one of our young adults, Davida, shared an Easter message. Today, Davida is studying public health in her first year of university. The message she shared is still so powerful today.
Two angels who appeared as men in clothes that gleamed like lightning asked the women why they were looking in the tomb for someone who was alive.
Often, we run into people who are looking for God among the dead. They study the bible like a mere historical document. Only when we are looking for Jesus in our midst can we experience the power that Heaven can bring. He is alive! He is not among the dead. Christ’s resurrection gives us the assurance that we also will be resurrected. The power of God that brought Christ’s body back from the dead is available to us all so that we can change and grow.
Christian brothers and sisters, we do not merely tell lessons from the life of a good teacher. We proclaim the inerrancy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That is why Matthew 28 verse 7 says, ‘Then go quickly and tell his disciples that they are to spread the joyful news of His resurrection.’ So we, too, are to spread the good news about Jesus’ resurrection and The Raining Season. He is alive! He is not among the dead. Happy Easter to you all!”
As we celebrate Easter this week, we remember the triumph of light over darkness and the promise of new life in Christ’s resurrection. He is risen!
