Have Fun Raising Funds: Celebrating Our 2025 Teams

In the summer of 2025, The Raining Season launched a new fundraising initiative with a simple yet powerful idea to have fun while making a difference. What began in June quickly grew into something truly special, thanks to a group of volunteers who showed up with creativity, joy, and generous hearts.

As we step into a new year, we want to pause to say thank you and celebrate what God has done through our Have Fun Raising Funds teams.

In just six months, our fundraising teams raised a combined $8,170 to support children and communities in Sierra Leone! That impact is remarkable, especially for a brand-new campaign, and it is entirely because of the people who said yes to hosting fun events that invited others into The Raining Season’s mission.

We are so grateful to our five teams located throughout the U.S. that participated, including Teach, Love, Serve in Nashville, Tennessee; Ashland Team in Nebraska; Making it Rain, also located in Nebraska; Camas Team from Washington; and Ozark Team in Missouri.  Each team brought their own ideas, and together they helped move our mission forward in meaningful ways.

We want to give a special thank you to the Camas Team, who raised an incredible $4,200 in 2025 alone. Their dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm made a lasting impact, and the children we serve are better because of it.

The team from Ashland, Nebraska, also deserves recognition for raising $1,580 in 2025. Their commitment and willingness to jump in during this campaign’s first year played a key role in its success. We are so thankful for their heart to serve and make a difference.

Want to Join the Fun in 2026?

One of the questions we are asked most often is: “How can I volunteer with The Raining Season?” Becoming a Have Fun Raising Funds team is one of the best ways to get involved.

In 2026, we are prayerfully working toward growing this initiative from 5 to 12 teams across the United States. These teams host fun fundraisers that are easy to attend and meaningful to participate in, while bringing people together for a great cause.  Each team is made up of a team leader and two to three members who bring positive energy and a heart for making a difference. Team leaders will receive guidance and support, along with simple event ideas.
