How it Started – How it’s Going – Memunatu

How it Started – Meet Memunatu. Memunatu has called The Raining Season home for nearly twelve years. Memunatu was born on March 28, 2002. She came to The Raining Season when she was just ten years old with her twin sister and two younger siblings.  Memunatu always worked very hard in school, scoring high on exams and promoting yearly to a new grade level.  As a child, she dreamed of becoming a teacher or an accountant.  In August 2014, she was named the Most Outstanding Girl.  When Memunatu came to The Raining Season, she did not know Jesus.  However, she quickly put her trust in Jesus as she was discipled by our staff.  One of her first favorite bible verses was 1 John 4:4: “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

How it’s Going – Today, Memunatu is 22 years old. She is kind, caring, and hardworking.  In 2021, Memunatu moved from The Covering to The Roots Home.  She is currently in her second year of university at The Institute of Public Administration and Management.  She is studying Procurement and Logistics and hopes to one day use her degree to help others.  Memunatu also enjoys doing hair and makeup.  Last summer, she began a course where she practiced a variety of hair and makeup techniques.  In May, she graduated from the class and was even awarded a trophy for most creative.

As you can see in the pictures, Memunatu has grown from a little girl into a beautiful young woman in the twelve years she has been a part of The Raining Season. She has had a safe place to live, opportunity through education, nutritious food, essential medical care, and spiritual nurturing every day for twelve years.  She has grown in her faith and excelled in school. Thank you for being part of Memunatu’s story at The Raining Season. Because of people like you, Memunatu can look forward to a bright future.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
