Meet Kandeh Bai Kamara

Meet Kandeh Bai Kamara.  He can call The Raining Season home because of his wonderful and dedicated sponsors.  He is 13 years old and in grade 6.  Kandeh and his three sisters came to the center in early 2013.  He is quiet and reserved but full of joy and energy. He tends to stay back until he gets to know people, and then he opens up with his full, joyful personality. Like any boy, he can get into a little bit of good-hearted mischief but has a great heart.

When Kandeh first came to our center at six years old, he loved coloring and superheroes.  Now, he enjoys being one of the “big boys” and playing soccer. He is currently preparing to take the National Exam, which will promote him to grade seven outside of the center next fall.  Kandeh is very smart!  When he grows up, he wants to be a banker.  He has also talked about wanting to be a pastor.  We know that whatever Kandeh chooses to be, his future is bright.

As you can see in the pictures, Kandeh has grown from a little boy to a young man in the seven years he has been a part of The Raining Season.  It has been amazing watching him grow and develop over the years.  Because of sponsors, like you, and an incredible staff to care for him, Kandeh is not only surviving, but he is THRIVING!  He is healthy and growing big and strong.  He is excelling in school and growing in his faith.  Kandeh is well cared for and knows that he is loved.  Kandeh’s story would have looked very different had it not been for The Raining Season.  Thank you for being a part of Kandeh’s story.

Our kids are the reason why we do what we do.  They are the reason you say yes to sponsorship.  The reason our staff shows up every day.  They are the reason why, more than ten years ago, our founders said yes to something bigger than themselves in Sierra Leone.  We are raising up a new generation, one that will bring hope for the future.  Without sponsors who are willing to commit to supporting our kids each month, our kids would not have an outstanding staff to love, disciple, and care for them. Without sponsors, our kids would not have access to medication, food, and clean water. Without sponsors, our kids would not have access to quality education.  Sponsorship fulfills the five pillars of The Raining Season's philosophy; safety, education, medical, spiritual, and nutrition.

Are you ready to be a part of a child’s story at The Raining Season.  Learn more about sponsorship here?

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
