Pastor Daniel

Each time we introduce a staff member, we continue to be reminded of how incredibly blessed we are by their care and dedication. Our in-country staff goes above and beyond day in and day out. In 2014 and 2015, during the Ebola outbreak, our staff left their families to spend an extended amount of time caring for our kids at the center. Then, in 2020 when COVID rocked the world, they again sacrificed their own lives to spend extended periods of time living onsite. Our staff loves the kids as if they are their own. They disciple, mentor, and encourage our kids. Today, we have the opportunity to share more about a familiar face at The Raining Season, Pastor Daniel Kamara.

Pastor Daniel joined The Raining Season as a staff member in 2009 when we first opened our doors. He was connected to TRS by a missionary woman. She told him about TRS, then he came for an interview and was hired. He was initially employed as a carpenter, but with his background in ministry and heart for serving the children, he quickly became known as Pastor Daniel while wearing many other hats along the way.

Today, Pastor Daniel serves TRS as a Logistics Manager, pastor, guardian, and counselor. As a Logistics Manager, he supervises the Logistics Officer to ensure that he follows the proper protocol and procedures in line with The Raining Season’s policies. He also oversees the aunties in the apartments, security guards, cooks, and groundskeepers to ensure each position runs smoothly. However, he is best known for his role as pastor of The Raining Season’s Church of Freedom in Christ at our center. There, he serves as a spiritual father to the children and staff while performing a pastoral role in the church. This includes Sunday services, leading devotions and bible studies, and identifying community needs for community outreach projects.

Pastor Daniel has been happily married to his wife, Augusta, for seventeen years, and together they have two sons, Manasseh and Abraham. Auntie Augusta is also part of The Raining Season staff. Education is very important to Pastor Daniel as he holds both a Bachelor of Art degree and a Diploma in Christian Counseling from Wohprag University in Lagos, Nigeria, and a Diploma in Theology from the International Theological Seminary in Lagos, Nigeria. In addition to his education, he is also an ordained minister.

While Pastor Daniel has always had a heart for the children and staff of The Raining Season, he also looks outside our gates to serve the greater community and beyond. Helping children in need is his passion and gift, and he also prioritizes being a spiritual guardian to those he serves. Because of this, he would like to see TRS expand to other parts of Sierra Leone and even beyond.

Pastor Daniel, thank you for pouring into our children, staff, the Freetown community, and teams that visit The Raining Season. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and discipling so many. We are grateful for your wisdom, selflessness, compassion, and kindness.

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
