The Raining Season Preparatory School Graduation

The Raining Season Preparatory School has come a long way since opening its doors in the fall of 2022. What started as a small but hopeful vision has now grown into a thriving school community, serving over 130 children from both The Raining Season and the surrounding community. Under the dedicated leadership of Pastor Sam Laggah, the school continues to provide high-quality education and a nurturing environment for all students at an affordable cost.

June 28th marked a very special milestone with our second graduation ceremony.  The event honored students transitioning from Nursery 3 to Grade 1 and from Grade 6 to Junior Secondary School. This year, we celebrated ten Nursery 3 graduates and twelve Grade 6 graduates, including seven children from The Covering—six from Grade 6 and one from Nursery 3.

Graduation in Sierra Leone is an important occasion. It is not only a time to celebrate academic achievement but also to recognize the students’ growth and progression to the next stage in their education. These ceremonies bring together teachers, students, family of graduates, and community stakeholders to celebrate the moment.

This year’s ceremony included the singing of hymns, a special speech from a guest speaker, dancing by the Nursery 3 students, and the distribution of certificates. The caps and gowns worn by our graduates added to the sense of pride and celebration. We are especially grateful that these items were generously donated to the school before last year’s ceremony.

Pastor Sam shared, “Graduation is more than just a ceremony.  It is the recognition of progress. It marks the transition from one level to another, from nursery to primary school and from Grade 6 to Junior Secondary School.”

We couldn’t be more proud of our students, their teachers, and the people who support them. Congratulations to all of The Raining Season Preparatory School’s 2025 graduates.  You’ve worked hard, and we celebrate every step of your journey forward!

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
