If you have been around for a while, you know about the kids, but it’s the caregivers, cooks, security guards, maintenance staff, teachers, administrators, nurses, and others who make TRS truly special. They love, care for, and disciple our children as their own. During Ebola and again during COVID-19, they put their lives on hold to serve and protect our children. They regularly make sacrifices for our kids, and we are so grateful for every staff member.
For fourteen years, our staff has shown up to love, protect, and provide, regardless of circumstance. Caring for nearly one hundred children comes with its challenges and can be thankless at times, but on November 9th, 2023, The Raining Season staff in Sierra Leone was recognized for the tireless work it does each day in Sierra Leone. The Raining Season was recognized as an outstanding NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) at the annual Sierra Leone NGO Awards Ceremony. Co-founder Osseh Kamara attended the awards ceremony and accepted the award on behalf of The Raining Season.
The ceremony honored NGOs, businesses in Sierra Leone, and government organizations. International NGOs were in attendance, as well as the Minister of Economic Development. Organizations are chosen to receive awards after surveys are sent out to social welfare and other entities that evaluate how different NGOs are doing. The Raining Season had the opportunity to attend the event in 2022, and it was a great honor to be recognized in 2023.
To our staff – THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS! You are very deserving of this honor. Thank you for your dedication to our children. Thank you for going above and beyond to love, care for, and disciple them.
Many blessings,
The Raining Season
